Synopsis

Many people dream about building a business. Ted Kernan, founder of Subsurface.io (formerly WellLogData), will speak about his journey chasing that dream, from hatching an idea, scaling a team, and finally selling the company. Ted and his team became part of geoLOGIC, based in Calgary, last December. He will also cover some of the technology that SSIO leverages to solve the industry’s data management problems.

Moderator

Godswill Nwankwo, MBA: Godswill currently works with his team and affiliates to build and deploy sustainable operational and financial strategies that are geared towards growing value in the short and long term. He built and successfully ran oilfield companies and provides contract (turnkey) drilling, operational, financial and management advisory services with integrated reservoir asset development and management, reservoir economics and valuation (fairness opinion). Godswill had previously worked for Schlumberger as a Drilling Services Engineer (DSE). He also worked for Halliburton and Baker Hughes INTEQ where he travelled and lived all over the United States. From the Appalachian to the Williston Basin and Elk Hills of the San Joaquin Valley to the Gulf of Mexico, he has led and managed teams from diverse backgrounds on several oil and gas drilling projects. He is also a knowledge expert on advanced subsurface formation data interpretation. Godswill has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). He also has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science with specialization in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence. He obtained an MBA degree in Finance with specialization in Private Equity and Investments.

He is currently Director of US Operations at geoLOGIC.
