SIPES Luncheon: February 15, 2018

February 15, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm CST

$35 – $45

Abstract: Free Data and Software Available in Texas and Louisiana

Large amounts of geoscience data and the software to utilize them are available online. This overview primarily covers free data and software available in Texas and Louisiana. These data include well logs and 3D seismic, as well as reports, surveys, databases, maps, legal filings and reports.

Much of the data is available online, but some, like cores and cuttings, require physical access at professional or public data stores. These data and software allow us to generate ideas and evaluate them quickly. They can significantly reduce an independent’s data and software expense.
