How Big Is The Prize?

by Allen Gilmer, Drillinginfo CEO and Co-Founder

Thousands of experiments have taken place over the last decade in an effort to extend unconventional hydrocarbons. What does this mean in terms of an ultimate resource base and how transformative can this be? What are the hurdles that need to be addressed to fully take advantage of the resource base? Where are the next plays coming from? Is MIT correct in saying that unconventionals represent a much smaller resource base than popularly expected?
